How to Turn On Email Alerts for Your Lists and View System Alerts

How to turn on daily Email Alerts for a list, choose alert types, and see System Alerts for a list or symbol.

Chaikin Analytics can email you once a day when something changes on a stock or ETF in one of your lists, such as a Power Gauge Rating change or an earnings update. You turn Email Alerts on for each list in My Chaikin, and you can check recent System Alerts for a list or a single symbol at any time.

💡 Tip: Alerts work on your own lists (Watchlists and Portfolio Lists). To make one, see How to Create, Edit and Delete Watchlists and Portfolio Lists in My Chaikin.

⚠️ Note: Alerts require watchlist capabilities, which are available only to Power Gauge Premier subscribers and above.

⚙️ Which Alerts Can I Choose?

Once Email Alerts are on for a list, the alert settings let you pick what you hear about. Select the alerts you want, then click Update and Save.

  • Power Gauge Rating Changes: a stock's Power Gauge Rating moves up or down.
  • Earnings Estimates: analysts change their earnings expectations.

To quickly check which of your lists have alerts turned on, navigate to My Chaikin, click the All Lists tab, select Email Enabled under Selected List Type on the left. The table then shows only the lists with Email Alerts turned on.

📬 When Do Alert Emails Arrive?

  • You’ll receive one email per day (usually around 8:00 AM ET)
  • It includes the triggered alerts from every list with email alerts turned on.
  • Each alert shows the symbol and the list or lists it belongs to.

🧠 Important Note: Alerts are part of the Chaikin research tools and are not connected to any specific newsletter service. These alerts are generated independently of any buy or sell guidance that may be provided in Chaikin’s subscription-based newsletters. Any stock recommendations related to newsletter services are shared separately by the analysts behind those services and are not part of the alerts system.

👀 Where Can I See System Alerts in the Platform?

You can see triggered alerts in the platform whether or not Email Alerts are turned on.

For a list: the Health Check

The System Alerts tab of a list's Health Check shows System Alerts over the last 7 days for every symbol in the list. Each row shows the Date, Symbol, Alert Type (such as Rating Change, Buy Signal or Sell Signal) and Alert Details (for example, Neutral → Bullish, or the signal name and price). Use the dropdown above the table, set to All by default, to narrow it.

The Recent Alerts box in Health Check also shows how many alerts triggered over the last 7 days.

For one stock or ETF: the Power Gauge Rating page

Open the symbol's Power Gauge Rating page and scroll down to its System Alerts section. It lists that symbol's alerts by Date, Alert Type and Alert Details, or shows No alerts found. See How to Use the Power Gauge Rating Page to Check a Stock or ETF.
